GUM TREATMENT
Gum disease, or periodontal disease as it is sometimes referred to, is a common health problem that is estimated to affect up to 50% of the adult population. The disease destroys the healthy gum attachment to the roots of the teeth and this leads to gum infection, gum recession, bone loss around the teeth and halitosis (bad breath) and gingivitis. If left untreated it can lead to tooth loosening, drifting and ultimately tooth loss. However, if caught early enough, gum disease can be completely reversed so it pays to take action if you think you may have a problem.

Typical symptoms of gum disease include sore, swollen or bleeding gums, loose teeth, sensitive teeth, gums that are starting to pull away from the teeth and bad breath. At Verum Cosmetic Dentists we have a range of treatments to deal with gum disease. Our gum treatments involve comprehensive oral hygiene work including home care plaque control. By removing plaque and tartar from the gums our treatments target the bacterial disease at the edge of the gum and the disease within the gum pockets.
